Support Enforcement

Since child support isn’t automatically enforced you must sign up to have child support enforced.

Those that may need child support enforced include:

  • Single parents
  • Foster Parents
  • Parents that need help

Once support is enforced you can expect to receive a child support payment from the non-custodial parent (usually). This payment usually comes in the form of either a check, direct deposit or a visa debit card that is loaded when you have new payments.

Getting your NY Child Support enforced is as simple as going down to you local NY CSE office and filling out some paperwork. If anything else is required to enroll the case worker you get assigned will be more than happy to help you with any questions you may have and make sure it gets enforced.

This process normally takes up to a few weeks but can take longer depending on the volume of enforcement applications. Again, you can ask your child support case worker about any specific details such as this.
